A friend of mine has the most incredible luck. She enters giveaways and contests and wins on the regular.

I have been playing along, and I actually won something.

And.........A Little Warm Up.

We all know by now that there is no way I will stick with a yearly theme. Life keeps getting in the way of my plots, er, plans.

Coming from Dinovember and now Elves on the Shelf, I am in a playful kind of mood.

I give you the Derp-asaurs.

They look pretty derpy don't they?

They came from the Spawnlings bag of toys from Nana's that I brought home. So, they are early 1990's dinos. Definitely the cheapo set.

Will I EVER Finish One?

Maybe I can figure out a project I like enough to do all year.

Or maybe because of how I am, trying to make myself stick to one thing all year is an exercise in futility.

Food for thought.

Grateful for the hubs.

He will be taking care of Itty Bitty while I am in seclusion.

He's always a willing participant to tea party.

20/365 Fordite

This arrived in the mail, a cool find on etsy.

Fordite, also known as Motor Agate, is a unique automotive enamel material with an interesting history. The original layered automotive paint slag "rough" was made incidentally, years ago, by the now extinct practice of hand spray-painting multiples of production cars in big automotive factories.

The over-sprayed paint in the painting bays gradually built up on the tracks and skids that the car frames were painted on. Over time, many colorful layers built up there. These layers were hardened repeatedly in the ovens that the car bodies went into to cure the paint. Some of these deeper layers were even baked 100 times.

Eventually, the paint build-up would become obstructing, or too thick and heavy, and had to be removed. As the story goes, some crafty workers with an eye for beauty realized that this unique byproduct was worth salvaging. It was super-cured, patterned like psychedelic agate, and could be cut and polished with relative ease!

Wow! “RECYCLE IT!” seemed to be the resounding sentiment. And so it was...

As word got around about this remarkable material, it's been said that rock hounds started showing up at auto factories, offering to help remove that problematic paint!

Sadly, the techniques that produced this great rough years ago, are no longer in practice. Cars are now painted by way of an electrostatic process that essentially magnetizes the enamels to the car bodies. This leaves little, or no over-spray.

The old factory methods that created this incredible material are long gone.

The Fordite “mines” are dry, so get some while you still can!

Family Game Night.

Even Itty Bitty played.

She would clap every time she got a piece in.

Still having medical fun, so a mini project.

100 happy days.

I need to focus on the good right now.

Like today, I received a lovely gift in the mail.

Sandalwood is a both soothing and fragrant. It attracts positive energy, and clear perception and promotes tranquility. Wearing Sandalwood acts as an antidepressant, antiseptic, and is a sedative wood. It promotes healing of the cells and assist the immune system with preventing illness.

Even though I have a new toy, I am a little bad about pictures this week.

But there was a milestone.

Itty Bitty practiced eating from a bowl.

I think she's got it.

15/365 Spent All Tuesday Preparing

I do like snow.

But I'm ready for Spring.

Saturday, the Lost Day

We were working on decluttering.

Today has been spent cooking and decluttering.

How much stuff do ya have? I expect people are wondering.

3 packrats living under one roof makes for lots of stuff.

8/365 and 9/365 I Am Always Falling Behind

I am embarking on not only this challenge, but a writing one, a photography one AND decluttering.

I am insane.

Thursday 8/365

I am scanning old photos. So I got lost in the history of the hub's family.

We inherited a lot of family photos.

I want to keep them, naturally. But, I also want to share them with the other remaining relatives.

I spent a really big chunk of time winding floss onto bobbins.

This will pretty much take me forever but once I am done, I will not be buying duplicate colors anymore.

7/365 Another Found Heart

This was the one that was meant to be for today....Stupid UVerse.

Found another heart while baking cookies for the Munchkin.

6/365 Stay On Your Side of the Bed

I am trying to be neater.

I have started making my bed everyday.

Something I've NEVER done.

The hubs and I do NOT share covers. We're both cover hogs.

Did I mention that we were forced to upgrade our internet to UVerse?

It's fine, except when it isn't.

Like the last 2 days it's been completely wonky.

The bane of my existence.

4/365 Lights Meet Music

One of Itty Bitty's favorite things is lights.

Overhead, flashlights, holiday, and even loves the tiny orbs of light that show when something is on.

Her current favorites are the glowsticks. Actually they are sold as emergency lights in Cabela's. She has one of every color.

Her second favorite thing is her drum. She loves the drum. She also loves to explore the different sounds that emerge when she uses a spoon. Or in this case, a glowstick.

3/365 Hula Hoop Hoopla

We have hopped aboard the hooping trend.

I am all for exercise disguised as fun. Especially that has my whole family involved.

Even the baby wants to do it.

2/365 Reading

I am an avid reader, and am happy to find that I am raising my children to be too.

These are the reading chairs that currently reside in the baby's room. A small one and a larger one, perfect for an 8 year old and 21 month old.

3rd grade requires 15-20 minutes a day in reading, I am happy to say that Munchkin always surpasses that. And it tickles me to no end that a good chunk of that is spent with her reading to her sister.

1/365 Hidden Hearts

A friend of mine always finds hidden hearts in nature and I have since been on the lookout for my own.

I have had my sofa in the same place for almost 7 years. I have rearranged my living room a few times, but never the sofa.

Until last week.

But it took me almost a whole week to notice that my hardwood floor had a heart-shaped knot/hole where the sofa had been.

Here, I used the lomo setting on my camera. And the flash.

When I Instagram-ed it earlier I had neither flash nor fancy setting.

Stuff. And Things.

get in the way.

To name a few;

My father-in-law passed away.

My husband works more hours than he sleeps.

Itty Bitty is mobile.

3rd grade. With multiplication tables and reading logs and let's-visit-a-foreign-country days.

Even normal things are getting pushed to the side.

I barely get to drink a hot cup of coffee these days.

But, every day I try.

Every night I read.

And every day I take photographs.

These things keep me sane-ish.

So my 2014 project is Project Life.

A photo a day.

Just a little glimpse into daily life. Often mundane, but nevertheless it's mine.

This weekend the Renwals shall be finished.

My customizer, aka The Mister, has said he thinks he can wrap them up this weekend.

Hoping to Start Eventually

but Christmas, traveling and a round of the stomach flu have put the doll painting kind of on the back burner.

Oh, and that I waited until a week before January 1 to choose my doll colors.

The Renwals have a house

But it is in bad shape. Practically condemned.

And empty.

So, this year the Renwals either fix up their home or seek out a new one.

Thursday, January 2, 2014

Shh, Don't Tell Him He's Adopted

The Renwals have a baby.

Also from eBay.

He doesn't know he's adopted, but something in his eyes tells me that he knows.

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

The mission?

One year with the Renwals.

I acquired a blank family on eBay.

They are almost ready for play.
