Darn.

The surprise snow has canceled all the Halloween events for the weekend.

Oh, just a few flurries....

What a difference a few hours makes...

I wonder how our poor scarecrow is doing?

176: Not-so-scary Scarecrow

The Munchkin's school loves Halloween. There is a parade, party, and a trick-or-treat event. It all kicks off with the scarecrow building.

This is our second entry in the scarecrow building.

We were more prepared this year, as last year I didn't even think about a head. We used a garbage bag and scribbled a face on with a permanent marker.

This year I raided the fabric and felt stash. The cheeks and mouth are fabric paint. And, of course, button eyes.

Le Sigh

I meant to make something every day for a year.

This month I have been renovating my attic and playing dress-up.

I have enjoyed the monthly Halloween self-portrait more than I figured. I intend to make this an annual event.

I have experimented with recipes. And not just chestnut.

So my creativity has been in full bloom, just not in a tangible way.

Since I posted the Halloween things elsewhere, I didn't want to post them here.

You can see them HERE.

Today I was Pippi Longstocking.

175: Attic Studio.

DONE.

This is where all my free time has been spent. Creating my studio.

The work table. An old-school school cast-off. Translation? Heavy. It is metal and oak. But roughly about 5' x 2' plenty of creating room.

I WILL be organized!

Found these metal bins, handy and I plot to find more.

174: Easy Listening, Volume One

I like how this one had my name on it....SO, left the eyes open.

Melanie, also love.

173: Altered Doll progress

The Dr Who Angel for the Spawnling

Made her dress. Not out of papier mache, but out of air drying clay. Has taken forever to dry.

Did the first painting, will add a second coat when it is completely dry. (To avoid further cracking.)

This 8 track cassette was Pat Boone's White Christmas in a former life....

171: One more

Like chips, I couldn't just stop at one.

This one is a smidge smaller. 2" x 3."

Just a flesh wound....zombie-style.

Although I have been told that at first glance this appears to be a clownfish.

Hmm. That just will not do.

170: Altered Things

Got about 300 8 track tapes at the recycling center. Wasn't sure what I would do with them, but they were all broken and about to be heaved into the trash.

So...

I finally figured out what to do with them.

Teeny, tiny canvases. And as zombies was my painting theme for the week....voila.

This one measures 2.5" x 3."

169: Forgotten sketch

When I got out my big sketchbook, I saw one I had started and abandoned.

I believe this was a daily challenge...something about numbers.

So I finished it.

I think this one was my favorite;

168: Zombies

I finished the painting and wanted to keep working, but I only have 3 canvas panels left. :(

So I sketched instead.

167: Saturdays with Suzy

Zombies.

That was the theme chosen for next week's painting, as we had a late start this week.

But I am already finished.

I got started and I didn't want to stop.

166: Photo Group.

Theme for this week was rain.

We only had one day of rain, and I am certain my neighbors must think I am a kook. Or, more kookier than they had already thought. I attempted to take pictures during the rain with an umbrella.

Not a good idea.

Sure, my camera stayed dry but I was trying to shoot one handed. Nothing came out right.

Then the next morning, I was out taking pictures in the bushes. Kook.

And once again, I proclaim my love for the macro setting.

165: Saturdays with Suzy

We did the zoo animal for last week. But neither of us were satisfied with the results. So we took a few extra days to finish up.

Zoo Animal: Flamingo. Finished.

164: Zombie Photo Shoot

Tomorrow's post is a zombie. But instead of one, I ended up with thirteen that I liked.

See the others here.

162: Photo Group

This week there was no theme, it was a wild card week.

As I have been decorating for Halloween this week, of course I chose a Halloween photo.

This shows a part of the zombie scene in my kitchen.

161: Photo Group

Last week's theme was green.

This is a pear. From one of those ornamental trees; Callery or Bradford. Inedible.

159: A Little nonsense now and then....

is relished by the wisest men.

But a common occurrence in my house.

I was making cock rings, the ones with just the head, and found the headless plastic Barbie body. So, you know....
